Why I wrote Three Brave Explorers
Every child deserves to feel like the hero of their own story. That simple idea is where Three Brave Explorers began.
I wanted to write a book that didn't shy away from difference, but celebrated it — gently, honestly and with plenty of warmth. A book that a child might read and think, "that's a bit like me", and feel a little braver for it.
Stories that help us feel seen
When children see themselves in a story, something quietly powerful happens. They feel understood. They feel less alone. And they start to understand others, too.
Sarah-Leigh's beautiful illustrations bring the three explorers to life in a way words never could — the ear-defenders, the wobbly moments, the big grins. Together, I hope we've made something that helps families and classrooms have kind, open conversations.
Thank you for being part of it.
